Prima mezza review da HTGTH:

I had such an excellent time!!  Guns took the stage at 11:41, I wish I could tell you the setlist but I cannot remember the order so I will let someone else have that pleasure.  Axl shared with us a small conversation about being down in Seattle at the "Open Market" which is down on the waterfront on Pike Street where you can get fresh seafood and so on, but he started laughing while telling us they were calling his name and throwing fish at him to catch, it's tradition to throw the fish until they land in the hands that cut and package it for the buyer, kinda funny anyway trying to picture him catching these huge slimy fish.  The venue was about three quarters full, I didn't arrive until 10:30 or so and could have made my way to the front without a doubt. A handful of people were thrown out either for cameras, or smoking weed, or whatever, they were actually pretty strict there.  We were able to get our video camera in, almost got caught, so it finally got put away about half way through the show, as they were onto it and obviously we didn't want to lose it or get kicked out, so  do have some footage, haven't looked at it yet, and don't know the quality the camera will provide due to it's size and so on, so I'll let you guys know how it turns out.  The show was kick ass, and it was good to see them again, he gave away half of his mike stand to some guy, my husband offered him 500.00 bucks for it on the spot, but he said no, and I don't blame him I wouldn't let go of the trophy either, well for now I have to go, my kids have to go to school on a couple hours sleep as they went with us and it was 2:30 when we got home, ha I feel sorry for them, me, I'm coming home and dream about last nights show until oh around noon or 1:00.

Ok, some things that I want to talk about that you normally don't get from a review.

Sebastian was very enteraining.  He got the crowd really going.  Put on a great show!  My buddy was actually making fun of him before the show, but came out of it saying "Sebastian really surprised me, that was awesome!"

Secondly, you can really tell that they are prolonging the stage setup and opening acts to time in with GNR's start time of 11:30pm.  I've been to a GNR show in the past where the lights go down, and you still wait 40 minutes.  Last night, Sebastian got done around 10:45 and the stage-crew didn't turn off all the lights until around 11:30.  Only a minute or two later, GNR hit the stage.  I think this is good because people don't get all pissy.  If people see the lights go out, they then expect a show.  Therefor, if you just prolong everything, people know there not coming on yet.  Plus, word seams to be getting around that GNR won't hit the stage until atleast 11:30.  I heard a lot of people mentioning that before the show.

Third, I thought the new songs got a really good reaction.  You can't expect people to hear something they have never heard before and be jumping all around.  I was both up front and also in the back sitting down for the show, and saw good reaction.  When I was sitting, just about everyone around me showed there appreciation (by clapping) for the new stuff, it was good to see.

Fourth, people have complained in the past about people leaving the show early.  I'm not going to say this didn't happen, because I saw a lot of people leave while I was sitting.  However, the people that were leaving were stoked.  I heard people walking out saying "wow, what a show", or "that was awesome"  The reason isn't because people think the show sucks, it's that people leave a Guns show because it's so late and they have jobs to go to the next morning.  Yeah, there are always a few people who don't like the show, but the majority of people last night were really into it.

Fifth, I thought the new songs that were played were played a hundred times better when I have seen them in the past.  I personally love "Better" when I listen to it in my car, or house.  But LIVE, I have to say I.R.S, and Chinese Democracy were very fuckin impressive.  People around me started to head bang on those songs and really got into it.  For their encore, they opened with Democracy in a way that I've never seen them.  Robin stood upper middle stage and shared an opening riff similar to Welcome To The Jungle.  It obviously wasn't the riff of WTTJ, but the it reminded me of it.  People really liked that intro.

Lastly, I want to say that I think this album is very close to being released.  I say that because of how they played there new songs last night, and 5 at that.  Yeah, Axl may not say anything on stage about how "this is a new song on Chinese Democracy", but the way they presented there new stuff last night, and the way they played it, that's promotion right there!  During CD for example...Robin starting off with an awesome riff to get everyone going, Chinese pictures on the big screen in the back, flames going up behind stage during the whole song!  People knew it was new stuff, and new stuff that wasn't too fuckin bad, if you know what I mean.

It was a great concert and especially for the regualar fan.  What I mean by that is ofcourse, us true die hards have been getting pretty much the same setlist for ever now, and know the new GNR like the back of our hand.  However, the regular fan doesn't.  They go to a GNR show to listen to songs like November Rain, Paradise City, Patience, etc., and that's what they get.  They also get GNR introducing 5 new songs to fans off their forthcoming album.  For me, like I said earlier, I went back and sat down for much of the concert.  That wasn't because I didn't enjoy, but because I wanted a different view.  I have seen them plenty over the past years and wanted to get a different perspective.  What i saw were people really enjoying what they were watching and hearing comments like "Axl's back" or "that was awesome", and seeing people get excited and say "look at him go", while he was running from one end of the stage to the other.  We all know Axl's style and what he does or used to do.  It's nice to see people getting a chance to see it again.  We as die hards obviously want more all the time, but what we have to remember is that we are the minority.  Don't worry, the regular fan is having a

Axl Rose rocks like there's no tomorrow

Guns N' Roses may have taken the Everett Events Center's stage late, but they give their fans a show they'll remember for a long time.

By Christina Harper
Special to The Herald

EVERETT - Fans of Guns N' Roses hoping to see the band on the remainder of their 2006 World Tour have been living under a rock if they turn up to a show and don't know that they're gonna rock and roll all night. And I mean all night.

Sebastian Bach, that long-haired, boyish, ex-Skid Row frontman, one of three opening acts, whipped the crowd into a rock 'n' roll frenzy, all the while telling them how much ass Axl Rose, Guns N' Roses' frontman, was going to kick when he came on stage, whenever that would be.

Yawn.

Notorious for not arriving on stage until he is absolutely ready, Rose, has been chided throughout this tour for starting his set at 11 p.m., midnight and even 12:30 a.m., being difficult at best, and sometimes even canceling gigs.

Well, people, get over it. Guns N' Roses might not have anything close to their original line-up but they do have a show that will blow your mind and take you to a place you haven't been for about 20 years. You either don't like them to begin with or you'll go to your grave growling an anthem like "November Rain" and loving every moment of this long-awaited tour.

Sunday night's audience at Everett Events Center was in for the long haul, happy to air thump through opening acts Suicide Girls - described as a tattooed, half-naked, hard-to-grasp group of women - and Helmet, a hard-core thrash-rock band. Bach pumped up the audience with lashing screams and renditions of hits like "18 and Life" and "Youth Gone Wild."

After a not-so-brief interlude, the lights went out, not down, and at 11:40 p.m. search lights and smoke got the audience ready for liftoff. And what a blast it was, beginning with booming balls of fire, blasting strobe lights and that all-too-familiar Axl Rose scream welcoming the audience to the jungle.

Rose, dressed in jeans, black shirt and red boots to match his red microphone and stand, and was in great form. His voice, at times, was more here and there than on, but no one seemed to care.

This is not the Guns N' Roses of old. These hand-picked musicians are not trying to cover anthems played by Slash and Izzy Stradlin.

Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal and Richard Fortus blazed through "Sweet Child O' Mine," "Used to Love Her" and "November Rain." Those guys could have played "Jingle Bells" and it would have been a head banger's high. They rocked.

During the night, a baby grand was rolled out and Dizzy Reed, long thin dreads and tattooed bare arms, stopped the show with a piano solo of the Rolling Stones classic, "Angie." He played madly and beautifully at the same time.

And where was Rose in all of this? He's the central character in this tour that for the most part is full of pure musical genius, a whirling dervish kind of character thumping his leg and sway dancing in time to the throbbing rock sound of "Paradise City."

Some think Rose is a rock god, maybe a rock demon. He has the Jim Morrison mesmerizing effect on his audience that pounds the air with fists and screams out his songs into the lights. You can't help but watch him and know that, for all his problems (and there have been many), he's the master of the night no matter what he looks like or if his voice is not exactly up to par. He can whistle the beginning of "Patience" and that's what fans have been waiting for, that and the 10-years-in-the-making new album "Chinese Democracy."

This tour has been criticized for being a platform for a Guns N' Roses cover band or the same songs just 20 years later. It's not. It is a comet full of rock music blasting, expertly, through the night with fire and booms. This Guns N' Roses sent a charge so hard and strong that the energy lasted into the streets of Everett well after the show.

The old Guns N' Roses might have been one of the best rock bands ever. The new one is.
