Hollywood.TV caught up with former GUNS N' ROSES and current VELVET REVOLVER drummer Matt Sorum on February 4, 2009 as he was leaving Madeo restaurant in Los Angeles. During the three-minute chat, Sorum offers his Grammy predictions and gives an update on VELVET REVOLVER's singer search (he says the band hopes to be able to make an announcement by April). VELVET REVOLVER has been looking for a new frontman since dismissing Scott Weiland back in April 2008. Rumored candidates have included ex-SKID ROW singer Sebastian Bach, former MTV VJ Steve Isaacs (THE PANIC CHANNEL) and ex-SPACEHOG vocalist Royston Langdon, who apparently had several successful rehearsal sessions with the band.
Weiland reunited with his previous act, STONE TEMPLE PILOTS, and has spent the last few months on the road with them.
In an interview with MTV.com, Weiland said about the split with his previous band, "VELVET REVOLVER fell apart because there were too many big egos in the band — and I'm including myself. It wasn't necessarily about bad egos, just big egos, and unfortunately, it just mistakenly kind of eroded."
Recentemente l'attuale batterista dei VR ed ex membro dei Guns N' Roses di axl rose, Matt Sorum ha rilasciato un'intervista ad una nota tv americana.
Si è trattata di una intervista di 3 minuti, nella quale Matt ha esposto le sue idee riguardo il Grammy e nello stesso tempo ha "chiarito" la situazione all'interno della sua band, i Velvet Revolver.
Un gruppo, ancora in cerca di un cantante, dopo l'uscita qualche tempo fa di Scott weiland, ora ritornato al suo pollaio (ahahaha) con gli Stone Temple Pilots.
Matt ha poi affermato che da aprile in poi, saranno note ai numerosi (?) fan del gruppo, altre informazioni riguardo il cantante ed i nuovi progetti del gruppo.
